What joy we feel and what happiness we experience at the purchase of a good shoe. Yeah! The smell of leather, the unwrapping of the foil and all other ceremonies that herald the arrival of a new shoe into our lives. Most times, the fault might lie in the hands of the maker, but often times, you can agree with me that the fault comes from us. Yes, we are the reasons why our shoes don’t last. We handle them carelessly, we toss them around anyhow and we use them to discipline that stubborn child (lol).

Shoe polish is a waxy paste, cream or liquid used to polish, shine and restore, maintain and improve the appearance of waterproof leather shoes and boots. There are various brands of shoe polishes that are available and these can be used to make the shoes last longer. Shoe polishes also come in sprays and they are used to shine suede shoes.

 

We all know how shoes look so faded when they aren’t shiny and most people we meet for the first time instinctively look at our feet. So, try to stand out and be remembered if not for anything, but for how glossy and shiny your shoes are.

 

  1.       Shoe Horn

This is a great shoe protector to have as it enables you to easily wear your shoe as well as remove them. A shoe horn is a curved blunt instrument that eases the user to wear the shoes properly. There are  various varieties available in the market and they are of different sizes too.

There are various types of brushes and they are all dependent on the type of shoes you want to use them on as well as the type of shoe polish you wish to use them with. This is very essential in the maintenance of shoes.

 

A toothbrush is a good option when you need to remove debris or buff product into tight places. when it comes to shoe shining, it’s time to get a white cloth out of the closet.
A soft cloth is important when it comes to more sensitive materials like leather. Its gentle touch will leave a lasting shine without damage.

A shoe tree is a device that is used to preserve the shape of a shoe by maintaining the actual outline and preventing crease. This is an alternative to using old newspapers or pieces of clothing inside the shoes.

 

The Shoe Tree is usually made of unfinished wood. Shoe trees are made from beech, lime, alderwood and cedar. It helps to also control odour and absorb moisture. There are  various categories of shoe trees, they are spring, advanced, lasted and plastic shoe trees. The plastic shoe tree has the advantages of being cheaper, lighter and being better suited for travelling.
