Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Enrols To Learn Shoemaking At The Footwear Academy

It was an exciting moment at The Footwear Academy as His Excellency, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu in company of the Director General of the Abia State Market and Quality Control Agency, Barr. Sam Hart, and other government officials, paid a courtesy visit to The Footwear Academy.

The Governor immediately enrolled as a student of The Academy and applauded the intellectual dimension The Footwear Academy was bringing into leatherworks manufacturing.

His Excellency, who has been an advocate of Indigenous products, spoke on the need for the country to leverage on the strength of it’s population to readily market it’s products.

He urged Nigerians to take pride in patronizing Made-In-Nigeria products as a way of boosting the economy of our country.

Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu’s first lecture was a slippers making Course, taught by Mr Bentley Chukwuemeka, the founder of The Footwear Academy. Within an hour, the Governor was done with his first pair.

Futhermore, Mr Bentley Chukwuemeka, the Founder of the Academy, voiced his commitment in producing quality footwear and setting a high standard in his trainings.

His Excellency, who was excited with what he witnessed at The Academy, promised to provide the Academy a Land for expansion and growth to ensure more students are accommodated and trained.

He also called for a possible collaboration with the Eyimba Automated Shoe factory and the Abia State Polytechnic.

In his words, he expressed that “Aba can compete with the Chinese and other world leaders in the shoe Industry and hopes that soon, no one will ignore the shoes produced in Aba.

An honorary award was presented to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, as the Prestigious Ambassador of The Footwear Academy.
