- The color of your shoe
- The kind/theme of event
- The weather and season of the year.
Here are different shoe types you can wear to any event of your choice.
Prior to the interview date, you should have done an in depth research into the dress code for the company. If you are opting for a business formal look or a business casual or a professional creative look.
The shoe types that can go with these looks are brown or black brogues- for men; or black or brown leather shoes for ladies. Grey, navy or red are applicable in their context. A close-toe, low-heeled pumps are great for interviews as they give off a professional look
- Outdoor Events
Events such as garden parties or book reading clubs are semi formal hence the professional colours may not cut it here. Sneakers, flats or ankle high boots are good to go.
Remember at events like this, you are bound to move about. Hence, endeavour to put on comfortable shoes that will not hamper your movement.
Low heels can also be worn to outdoor events too.
- Seminars and Conferences
These are corporate meetings organized with the aim of providing attendees with relevant information that will be delivered by speakers.
Low heels or closed pump will be great to wear to these events. Men should opt for very comfortable leather shoes or booty as you don’t want to deal with blisters or sore feet from ill-fitting shoes as you will do a lot of networking on your feet.
- Theme Parties
These are events that decorate to a special topic such as Valentine’s Day or Halloween. For parties such as this, some are already color selective example Valentine’s Day that has it’s universal color as red.
Men can wear suede, loafers or derby shoes or go casual with sneakers. Ladies can opt for peep toes, platform shoes, kitten heels or any other shoe of your choices.
As the bride, you have to opt for chic and elegant shoes. The location of your wedding determines your shoe choices. For beach weddings, sandals or slides can suffice. Flatforms are great to for beach weddings too.
For black tie affairs, you ditch the flats for heels. The height of course is up to you. The groom can opt for oxford or brogues in black patent leather or black leather.
So, whatever the event, remember to apply the rules stated earlier; the color of the shoe, the type of shoe as well as the weather conditions. Go out there and rock!
