5 Must Haves for a Classic Shoe Look

What joy we feel and what happiness we experience at the purchase of a good shoe. Yeah! The smell of leather, the unwrapping of the foil and all other ceremonies that herald the arrival of a new shoe into our lives. Let’s not forget the twirling and the striking of various poses before our ever-dependable mirror. Our mirrors have seen the different shades of us and it will still in the ensuing years.

But, we do remember how we feel at the damage of a shoe we love. That bond- that oh so tiny bond- we feel when our lovely heels get broken, our brogues smile at us from beneath our feet and when fake soles melt before our eyes under the heat of the sun.

Most times, the fault might lie in the hands of the maker, but often times, you can agree with me that the fault comes from us. Yes, we are the reasons why our shoes don’t last. We handle them carelessly, we toss them around anyhow and we use them to discipline that stubborn child (lol).

But that’s ok now, because, I’m here to tell you some equipment every shoe owner should have to help promote the longevity of their shoes. Are you ready?

We have shoe horns made of synthetic material, plastic, metal or wood. We also have long shoe horns and short shoe horns. Whichever shoe horn you intend to use is your personal decision to make. Just ensure that you do not reduce the longevity of your shoes by removing them in an improper way. Use shoe horn ensures that your shoes last longer and little or no damage is done to them. The shoe horn is mostly used in men’s shoes that have shoe laces.

This is an important piece of furniture that helps keep shoes organized and easy to access. There are various designs and styles in which shoe racks have been fashioned. There exists wooden, metal and synthetically made shoe racks. These shoe racks too can be placed in strategic parts of the home all in the bid to add aesthetics to the home.

Shoe racks were designed to replace shoe boxes. Most times, people store shoes on racks which are easily accessible and place the shoe boxes high above on the closet for once in awhile access.

Shoe racks prevent the accumulation of dust on the shoes, reduce clutter of shoes as they occupy less space and enable one to store one’s shoes at a dedicated place, especially if they are worn on a daily.

  1.       Shoe Brushes

There are various types of brushes and they are all dependent on the type of shoes you want to use them on as well as the type of shoe polish you wish to use them with. This is very essential in the maintenance of shoes.

A toothbrush is a good option when you need to remove debris or buff product into tight places. when it comes to shoe shining, it’s time to get a white cloth out of the closet.
A soft cloth is important when it comes to more sensitive materials like leather. Its gentle touch will leave a lasting shine without damage.

  1. Shoe Tree

A shoe tree is a device that is used to preserve the shape of a shoe by maintaining the actual outline and preventing crease. This is an alternative to using old newspapers or pieces of clothing inside the shoes.
